EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu, arrested by DSS over alleged corruption. Acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu, has been arrested by the Department of state service.

His arrest comes a few days after Abubarka Malami, attorney-general of the federation(AGF) accused him of gross infraction.

Some  hours after the EFCC acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu was reportedly arrested by the DSS for a third party money laundering allegation and acquiring properties in an Abuja highbrow area, a parody mugshot of Magu has emerged online to spite him.

Edited to fit in and posted by activist Adeyanju Deji, the unidentified graphic designer drafted Magu in the Ibadan office mugshot of the anti-graft agency.

The S.A. on Media to Magu, Tony Amokeodo, told ODOGWU MEDIA  that his boss was not arrested but only invited to answer questions regarding some allegations against him.

Amokeodo explained that Magu was invited to appear before a Federal Government panel set up to investigate the allegations of corruption levelled against him.

He was arrested over allegations he owns four properties and he was allegedly transferring funds abroad through a third party.

ODOGWU MEDIA confirmed that the EFCC chief travelled to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates without the authorization of the president during the COVID-19 lockdown.

And when he was queried, he said he went there for an investigation. He was also alleged to be living above his means.

The DSS, in a 2016 report, revealed that, accused of living in a N40m mansion paid for by one Umar Mohammed, a retired air commodore who is allegedly involved in shady deals.

ODOGWU MEDIA confirmed through the DSS that in December 2010, the police service commission (PSC) found Magu guilty of action prejudicial to state security withholding of EFCC files, sabotage an unauthorized removal of EFCC files and acts unbecoming of a police officer, and awarded him severe reprimand as punishment.

Magu is currently occupying a residence rented for N40m at N20m per annum, this accomodation was not paid for from the commissions finances but paid by one Umar Mohammed, air commodore retired, a questionable business man who has subsequently be arrested by the secret service, for the furnishing of the residence, Magu enlisted the federal capital Development authority to award contract to Africa energy, a company owned by Mohammed, to furnish the residence at a cost of N43m.

Investigation show that the acting chairman of the commission regularly embarked on official and private trip on a private jet owned by Mohammed.

In one of such trips, Magu flew to maiduguri alongside Mohammed with a bank MD who is being investigated by the EFCC over complicity in funds allegedly stolen by the immediate past petroleum minister, Diezani Alison Maduike the DSS made this known to ODOGWU MEDIA.
