Bishop Nwokolo tasks Archdeaconry on Church planting, institutes Venerable Uche

The Anglican Bishop on the Niger, Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Nwokolo has tasked the Onitsha Central Archdeaconry and clergymen to plant more churches as they embark on purposeful soul winning into God’s kingdom.

The prelate made the call at Basilica of St Andrew, Onitsha during the occasion of the Institution and Induction of Venerable Daniel Amarachukwu Chiazor Uche as Vicar/Archdeacon, Onitsha Central Archdeaconry.

Bishop Nwokolo said that the essence of the church is to embark on massive evangelism, preach the gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ which transforms human beings morally and spiritually.

“Let more churches be planted for the propagation of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I gave this same task to the former Archdeacon and it gave birth to the New Jerusalem Anglican Church, Onitsha.

In his homily, Reading from Ephesians 4 vs 8 Bishop Nwokolo preached on the power of ascension saying that without the Ascension there is no benefit for Christians.

“Jesus Christ is the center of the gospel message.He came to reconcile us to God through his teachings, death, resurrection and ascension to heaven.

“He is now interceding for us at the right side of the Father to ensure that Christians do not lack any good thing here on earth. Jesus is our advocate mediating between God and man,” said Nwokolo.

Moreover, the new vicar, Venerable Daniel Uche thanked Bishop Nwokolo and his wife Elsie, for finding him worthy of pastoring the Basilica and promised not to deviate from teaching the wholesome truth of the Bible.

After thanking his predecessor, Venerable Isreal Odita and other church leaders, Venerable Uche, his wife Lydia and children further embarked on a family Thanksgiving showing gratitude to God for the new elevation and responsibility.

Many church members from the celebrator’s former church, St Faith Anglican Church, Fegge and Basilica of St Andrew who came to felicitate with him described Venerable Uche as a practicing Christian, humble and accessible.
