Bishop Ephraim Ikeakor of Amichi diocese

The Anglican Bishop of Amichi Diocese, the Right Reverend Ephraim Ikeakor has expressed worry at the astronomical debt profile of the nation handed over by the immediate past administration.

The cleric made the remark while delivering his presidential address at the 3rd session of the 5th Synod of the Diocese held at St Philip Anglican Church Eziama Amichi in Nnewi South Local Government Ares of Anambra State.

He expressed sadness with the reckless borrowing spree which so many out gone governors embarked on.

He faulted the timing of the removal of subsidy on petrol, noting that government should have implemented it in phases with adequate palliatives in place to cushion its huge  effects.
