Bishop Ibezim ordains 11 priests in Awka Diocese

Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Right Reverend Alexander Ibezim, PhD has ordained eleven (11) Ordinands as priests in the diocese.

The Advent Priestly Ordination which took place at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith Awka.

Right Reverend Ibezim while ordaining the Priests tasked them to proclaim by word and deed the gospel of Jesus Christ and to fashion their lives in accordance with its precepts.

He told them to preach, declare God’s forgiveness to penitent sinners, run the race of wining souls and evangelize all nooks and crannies as well as Pray that God will each day, enlarge and enlighten their understanding  of the scriptures so as to grow stronger in their ministries.

A Preacher and Retreatant, Right Reverend Sam Chukwukain a sermon titled, “The Ministry of the Church is receiving a big boom today”,said the Ministry of the Church is all about reconciliation and new relationship with one another, stating that it is their duty to go and ensure that people are reconciled to God for all have sinned against God.

 Right Reverend Chukwuka who is the retired Bishop of Isikwuato Umunneochi Diocese Abia state, maintained that it is not the will of God for his children to perish, stating that Priests are ordained  to equip them for the work of the Ministry and to present Christ to the people so as to be reconciled.

In their separate speeches, some of the newly ordained Priests including, Reverend Dr Humphery Bosah, Reverend Emmanuel Ogugua and Reverend Sunny Okechukwu, thanked God for the elevation of their status in God’s vineyard,  assuring that they will serve the Lord with total commitment and thanked Bishop  Ibezim for finding them worthy.

The service featured swearing to the oath of allegiance against homosexuality, canonical obedience and submission as well as special rendition by the choir.
