Beware of Desperate Politicians, Criminals – AIG UKPO Warns Youths

The Assistant Inspector General, in charge of Zone 13, Ukpo , Anambra state, Mr Danmallam Mohammed has advised youths not to let themselves to be used by desperate politicians and criminals to destabilise the already existing peace in the country.

The Assistant Inspector General, in charge of Zone 13, Ukpo , Anambra state, Mr Danmallam Mohammed gave the advice when he received a delegation from Ukpo community who came to brief him on outcome of an extraordinary meeting held at the palace of the traditional ruler of the community .

According to him, community leaders in the zone must continue to Strive to caution their wards against acts that could jeopardise the existing peace and security in the area and always use dialogue to resolve issues within their domain.

Mr Mohmamed cautioned the public to be weary of anyone using the name of the zone to extort money from them sighting the case of one Izuchukwu Nwabueze from Ukpo , who is now facing trial for alleged criminal offences he committed claiming to be working for the police.

The leader of the delegation from Ukpo , Ichie Okwuchukwu Ezeaku, said the council of elders and cabinet members in an emergency meeting reviewed the activities and allegations levelled against their son, Izuchukwu Nwabueze and resolved to strip him off, of all his positions and traditional titles conferred on him by the town.

According to him, the Igwe in council and the entire Ukpo community regrets the embarrassment the character of the suspect may have caused the AIG and the entire Zone 13 and commended the disposition of Danmallam Mohammed in security and conflict resolution matters.

Earlier in a remark, the palace secretary , Bonifcae Nwabuike said in spite of several advise, admonition and cautions from stakeholders including the traditional ruler of Ukpo, Izuchukwu Nwabueze refused to behave in a manner that is expected of a title holder hence the resolution to relief him of all privileges in Ukpo Community.

Meanwhile, the town Union executives led by the president General , Chief Vin Oyiliagu through a letter also submitted to the AIG described the purported protest against the leadership of the zone as baseless and an act of irresponsibility on the part of the organisers dissociating the entire town from it.
