BEST BRAIN CONTEST HOLDS 5TH EDITION IN ANAMBRA
The 5th edition of the Best Brain Contest, an Anambra State Mathematics and Igbo Language quiz competition for senior secondary schools, was held in the state, bringing together students and teachers from various secondary schools to compete for academic honours.

Anambra State Mathematics and Igbo Quiz Competition for Senior Secondary Schools The competition was sponsored by IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundations in collaboration with Akpoazaa Group , hosted by Dr Frank Igbojindu, CEO Best Brain Contest.
The competition, hosted by the Akpoazaa Foundation under the auspices of Dr. Frank Igbojindu, featured secondary schools from different parts of Anambra State, including St. Patrick’s College, Awka; Loretto Special Science School, Adazi-Nnukwu; Bubendorff Memorial Secondary School; Christ the King College, Onitsha; Carol Standard Convent, Ichi; Holy Child Secondary School, Isuofia; Divine Destiny International School, Iyiowa; St. Theresa’s School, Enugwu-Ukwu; St. Charles College, Onitsha; Urban Girls Secondary School, Ekwulobia; and UNIZIK High School.
Ten students qualified for the final stage of the contest after preliminary rounds. The competition was conducted in two segments, beginning with the Igbo Language quiz and followed by the Mathematics segment, which tested the students’ academic depth and reasoning ability.
In the Mathematics segment, Obieze Chikaima of UNIZIK High School emerged the overall winner and was awarded ₦100,000, a trophy, a medal, and a certificate of distinction. Onuzulike Daniel of St. Patrick’s College, Awka came second and received ₦60,000, a medal, and a certificate of distinction, while Ogbuagu Paul of All Hallows Seminary, Onitsha placed third with ₦40,000, a medal, and a certificate of distinction.
For the Igbo Language segment, Ndubilo Rosemary of Loretto Special Science School, Adazi-Nnukwu won the first position. Ukwueze Chidera of St. Patrick’s College, Awka finished second and received ₦60,000 and a medal, while Ugochukwu Desmond of Christ the King College, Onitsha emerged third, winning ₦40,000 and a trophy.
The event recorded large participation and enthusiasm, with students accompanied by their teachers. A major highlight of the competition was the recognition of teachers whose schools performed excellently, as outstanding schools received ₦100,000 each and a trophy under the Teachers’ Champion Award, symbolising academic excellence.
Speaking during the event, Dr. Frank Igbojindu said the quiz competition was initiated out of his passion for education and youth development. He explained that the programme, which began in 2021 and has continued through 2025, was designed to encourage academic excellence and preserve indigenous language among young people. He added that the initiative is supported by the Akpoazaa Group in collaboration with IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundations, noting that investment in education remains a sustainable way of securing the future.
Some of the winners expressed gratitude to the organisers and described the competition as challenging, attributing their success to intensive academic preparation and mental discipline.
