Awgbu town traditional title holder drags to court over unlawful ejection and seizure of tenant properties worth millions of naira

Chief Okwudili Ogboo a traditional title holder of Onwa na Awgbu, Orumba North LGA Anambra State but popularly known as “Okombo” at the international building materials dealers market Ogidi Idemili North LGA where he operates as a truck driver has been dragged to court for unlawful ejection and seizure of properties worth millions of naira belonging to a tenant by one Mr. Anieze Chinedum a phone accessories dealer, pos operator and a human right activist.
According to a statement of claims which was filed at nteje magistrate court Nteje, Oyi LGA presided over by Mrs M.U. Enendu by Bar. M.T. Olisaeke the lawyer to Mr. Anieze Chinedu.
Chief Okwudili Ogboo who was the caretaker of No 1 Chidi Ezenduka Street, blessed estate, Nkwelle Ezunaka Oyi, LGA the building where the shop of the plaintiff Mr. Anieze Chinedu was located sometime between march 2023 and may 2024 in the morning did forcefully lock up the shop of the plaintiff without authorization with another key and when asked on his reasons for locking up the shop, threatened the plaintiff with thugs who chased away the plaintiff while brandishing dangerous weapons.
According to the six points statement of claims, some of the items that was in the shop which the defendant Chief Okwudili Ogboo seized and appropriated to himself includes, Sumec fireman generator model 1800, Ox ceiling fans, chargers, MP model 5812, Scan frost iron etc.
When the case came up for hearing last Tuesday, the defendant Chief Okwudili Ogboo and his counsel was absent. But addressing the court on the matter, Bar. M.T Olisaeke the lawyer to Mr. Anieze Chinedu told the court that the defendant lawyer told him that he was indisposed and will not be able to appear in person and pleaded for an adjournment.
Ruling on this after listening to the learned counsel of the plaintiff, the trial magistrate her worship M.U Enendu adjourned the case to March 10th 2026. For hearing.
