Avoid Neglecting Power of Rosary – Rev Fr Igwe warns

A Priest of St Joseph The Worker Chaplaincy, Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka, Rev Fr Dominic Igwe has warned Catholic faithful to avoid neglecting the importance of Virgin Mary in their daily lives.

He gave the warning while delivering sermon on the eve of the 2021 feast of The Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary and advised catholics on the importance of the daily recitation of the rosary. He also advised the Catholic brethren to hand over everything that constitute their worries over to Virgin Mary during such the prayer.

In the sermon titled: “Importance of virgin Mary in our lives. ” He said wherever Jesus and Mary are present, nothing falls Short. He narrated instance in a Bible passage on the wedding at Cana, how Mary the mother of Jesus confidently told servants to go to Jesus and how Jesus turned several jars of water to wine after the previous one at the wedding finished.

According to the Priest, “Presence matters a lot and there are also dark moments, but Virgin Mary comes from nowhere and brings a bright light. That is why if we look at her image, there is always a serpent under her feet, this shows that she has conquered the devil.”

Rev Fr Igwe who gave the words of St Paul in 1st Corinthians, said, “Christ must reign as king until he has put all his enemies under his feet, and the last of the enemy to be destroyed is Death.”

He made the congregation believe that Virgin Mary is the only person with her son that can save this country and we shouldn’t loose hope in our country, even though we’re like sheep without shepherd.

Speaking shortly after the sermon, A representative of St Vincent de Paul society gave a brief history about the society. He advised interested catholics to show interest in joining the society.

The president of the Nigeria Federation of Catholic Students (NFCs) Nnamdi Azikwe University Branch announced that the students who just returned from their Their Industrial Training (IT), Should wait after the mass for a brief meeting.

In Another development, Saint Cecilia Angelic Voices Choir:(SCAV) Had their new members who went through probational classes, inducted. The choir Mistress encouraged them to become constant members and never stop singing for God.

The first year students were called to the altar for their blessings, later Rev Fr Igwe advised them to register into the NFCS as soon as possible.
