At Last, The Eagle Has Landed

Are you talking about his drop dead good looks? His academic and intellectual prowess? Or his administrative and managerial acumen? Is it in terms of excellent inter personal relationship; an affable and amiable personality?

These and more are not only what sums up the essence of our subjecf matter, but there are more to it. In felicitating with the Man of the Moment, Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo KSJII who clocked 59 a few days ago,one must take into cognisance the fact that this is not just one of those men in the political Turf, but here is a man with an unblemished and untainted antecedent in the service of God and humanity.

A man with an enviable track record of Public Service, Private Practice and Community Leadership.A man that rose meritoriously up the ladder of political success from the position of PA to a Local Government Chairman to PA to a State Commissioner and later served two Sitting Presidents as Special Adviser,namely late President Musa Yar’Adua and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan without any scandal or blemish.

Upon assuming office as President,Dr Goodluck Jonathan appointed him as Special Adviser on Technical Matters and made him the Secretary of the Presidential Task Force on Power ( PTFP). He additionally appointed him Member/ Secretary of Subsidy and Re Investment and Empowerment Program (SURE P) At the end of his tenure as President,Dr Goodluck Jonathan described Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo as a friend and trusted aide and appointed him,his Personal Envoy.

Till date,Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo remains the Personal Envoy to former President,Dr Goodluck Jonathan GCON,GCFR. This is the exciting and progressive trajectory of the man who is unarguable the most popular and favoured Governorship Aspirant, not only in the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), but in the entire Anambra State. As it stands, all the indices point to the possibility of his picking the APGA Ticket in a free fair, and transparent Primary Election.

Among all the APGA Aspirants, he is about the only one that is solidly on ground and is abreast of the intricacies and complexities associated with the hardship the masses go through on a daily basis. He is at home with the people at the grassroot level having relocated permanently to his hometown years ago in order to personally feel the pulse and verve of his people.He is no doubt the most polished, amiable and accessible political figure around.

He is one politician without any form of garbage, baggage or excess luggage. He is young, vibrant, intelligent, very sound and solid. Born on the 10 th of April 1962 in Nza Ozubulu, Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State to the Catholic Family of Lady Elizabeth and late Chief Emmanuel Nwankpo, he is happily married in the Catholic Church to Barr.

Mrs Obiageli Nwankpo and are blessed with 5 children and 5 grandchildren. An ex seminarian and Old Boy of All Hallows Seminary Onitsha,Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo holds a Bachelor Degree in Philosophy from Bigard Memorial Seminary,Ikot Ekpene and a Bachelor of Law Degree ( LL.B) from Baze University Abuja. He obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and a Professional Certificate in Cross Sector Partnership at Cambridge University, United Kingdom.

As a grassroot Community Leader (Despite his high level of National attainment) he has received series of awards from both the Traditional and Religious Institutions. The Anambra South Traditional Rulers Forum awarded him the First Anambra South Distinguished Service Award for Dedication, Humility and Innovation in Public Service.

He was equally given the Award of Excellence In Innovation and Creativity by the Anambra Book and Creativity Festival. The Eze Nri gave Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo the title of Oputa Ife Adi of Igboland, while Ihiala LGA Traditional Rulers Forum honoured him with the title of Ife Adigo of Ihiala LGA. The Traditional Rulers of Anambra North gave him ” Ogo Bu Chi Onye” of Anambra North. Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo is currently serving the Catholic Community of Nnewi Diocese as the Vice Chairman of the Pastoral Council.

 According to him in a release he issued, his purpose for seeking to be Governor of Anambra State is to give God thanks and pay back by lifting up many Anambra families, stabilizing public utilities and upholding the dignity of Ndi Anambra and his vision is to strengthen every Anambra family to meet her own needs without depending on another family. 

And his mission is to work hard everyday and make Anambra State Government the reliable partner in strengthening every family in Anambra State and with the strategy to improve and aggressively implement every Government policy, project and program in Anambra State to have rapid, positive impact on the industrialization of the state and to strengthen every Anambra family.

As we prepare to move Anambra State to the next phase, let us put aside every sentiments and get it right.If APGA losses Anambra State,it will be a tragedy not only to Anambra, but to the entire Igboland, because APGA is the only Political Identity of the Igboman.

And if AGPA must win the General Election, she must field in a popular, respected, credible, acceptable and Godly character who is well known to the people he intends to govern and not one strange elite who does not even understand what the people are yearning for, because he has never been with them. The era of importing and imposing foreign bred elements on Anambrarians is gone and gone forever.

Let us therefore make it our collective task and responsibility to make sure that this cool headed,calm, collected and calculative gentleman by name Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo,Oputa Ife Adi Na Igboland is given the mandate to pilot the affairs of Anambra State for the next 8 years.
