ASUU Rejects FG Loan Proposal, Calls It ‘Greek Gift’
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Lagos chapter, has dismissed the federal government’s loan offer to lecturers as a “Greek gift.”
During a special congress on Tuesday, the union backed its national leadership’s planned actions to press home welfare demands.
Branch Chairman Prof. Idowu Kehinde said lecturers need fair wages and allowances, not loans. “If we are paid what is due, no one would need to borrow,” he stated.
