It is not a surprise to me that child traffickers can be carrying out their criminal activities under the guise of running an orphanage home.

What came as a surprise to me was how the suspect evaded detection for several years under the supposedly watchful eyes of the commissioner for women and children affairs.

Instead of paying close attention on the children, Ndidi Mezue’s staff are more concerned with what gets into their car trunks whenever they carry out their routine supervision and inspection of the orphanage homes.

Who is asking questions about how these children always find their ways into these orphanage homes? What are the statistics of the abandoned or neglected children every year that the suspected child trafficker would be keeping up to 12 children in the home?

Could Mrs Nkechi Odilinye be among those who quickly paid the 70,000 Cash to Director Child Mrs Nkechi Anazodo for reregistration to evade possible suspicion and arrest?

According to the press statement from the PPRO, the suspect Mrs Nkechi Odinye buys the children stolen from the north here in Anambra State between two hundred and four hundred thousand ( #200-400,000).

These stolen children are all visibly seen by the supervisors from the ministry whenever they visit the home for inspection. How come none of them had noticed something was amiss for years? Aren’t they properly checking all paper trails following these children?

The Anambra State Police Command under CP John Abang, fdc has demonstrated his determination to rid the State of any criminal element and so deserves our commendations and support.

I hope that a discreet investigation would be carried out by the members of the security agencies responsible for the weekly inspections of those home, especially the DSS, NSCDC and most importantly the Nigerian Police to ascertain all culpable accomplices.

Let us try us apply equity, justice and fairness when dealing with human lives.

Let us shun any form discrimination in the guise of overzealousness and political eye service to please a party at the expense of human lives.
