APGA Rounds Off Local Government Campaign, Positioned To Win Anambra East
Ahead of this Saturday’s local government election, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has officially rounded off its campaign with a massive grand finale in Otuocha, expressing strong commitment to sweeping all twenty-one local government areas of the state, including Anambra East.
Leading the rally, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo reiterated that the party is taking the polls with utmost seriousness and mobilizing support across all LGAs to tick all the boxes of democratic tradition, assured the electorate that grassroots administration in the state is fully operational, noting that accountability, transparency, and sustainability remain the hallmarks of his government.
According to Governor Soludo, primary school teachers and healthcare workers are paid promptly as and when due, while visible achievements are being recorded across all sectors, expressing gratitude to the people of Anambra East for their massive votes during the previous gubernatorial election.
He emphasized that Anambra remains a formidable stronghold for APGA. He further announced that the party is gearing up for a major political movement early next year alongside massive developmental acceleration across all sectors, noting that APGA mayoral candidates are heading into the elections unopposed in twenty other LGAs due to the realization of the opposition.
The Governor stressed that Anambra East will witness a decisive electoral contest before the candidate is officially returned.
The grand finale featured vibrant parades by the fifteen wards in Anambra East and robust solidarity speeches from key government officials, party leaders, and stakeholders.
Mayor of Anambra East LGA, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Chinweze commended the Governor for visiting the area countless times since assuming office, the Mayor appreciated the sustained trust and support that has enabled infrastructural delivery, highlighted that Otuocha Market is now seventy percent complete—serving the Omambala region and Kogi State—while peace has successfully been restored to previously warring communities in the area.
Mrs. Chukwuma Veronica who spoke for Otuocha Women Traders, added her voice to the widespread acclaim, affirming that the Mayor has performed exceptionally well in office, just as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Tobechukwu Nweke, Member Representing Anambra East at the State House of Assembly, Barr. Obi Nweke, APGA Candidate for Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe, Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, APGA Senatorial Candidate for Anambra North, Senator Stella Oduah, State Chairman of APGA, Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye and the National Chairman of APGA, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, noted that the massive turnout proves Anambra East is solidly APGA, recalling that the YPP governorship candidate lost all the wards in the area during the last election as a testament to the people’s loyalty.
They highlighted landmark achievements like free education, free antenatal care, free delivery, and youth empowerment, assuring that voters will come out en masse on Saturday in favor of APGA.
