Anglican priest   tasks fathers on exponential  increase  on consumption of hard drugs

The  Vicar  incharge  of Saint   Johns’Anglican Church  Nise in Awka  South Local  Government  Area, Reverend  Canon  Dr. Kingsley   Chukwukamma, has  blamed  the  exponential  increase on consumption of hard drugs  in the society  by the  youths on the  short  fall  of the fathers. 

The  Anglican  Cleric, who  was   speaking during  a special  church service to  mark  this  year’s  Fathers Sunday  in Church ,said that  some Christian  fathers  have  failed  woeful  in carrying  out their  responsibilities in their  respective homes. 

 Reverend Canon Dr.  Chukwukamma, who  describe the  fathers  as the  foundation of the  family, also  described  the theme  of this  year’s father’s Sunday as very apt  and  well  presented. 

According to him, the  Christian  fathers  are  expected to  be  dedicated  to prayer  and  dutiful  at all times  to  the  glory  God and  described  the  incessant consumption of  hard drugs  by the  youths  and  some  fathers  as  a miserable  development,blaming it to the   short  fall of  some  fathers  in the  society. 

 From  her,  the  wife  of  the Vicar  Ochiora  Gloria  Peace  Chukwukamma, tasked  the  fathers  to  work  towards  building a  unified  family as  the  head, adding  that the  mothers  as the  neck should  always  think  for the  good  of their  family through  prayer  and  raising their  children  with  the  fear  of God so  that  they  should 

always  looking  up  to  Jesus Christ  as their  savor. 

 Earlier  in a sermon, the  catechist of the  Church,  Mr. Ifechukwu  Geoffrey  Nnamdi, who  read  the  Archbishop ‘s charge to  the  fathers titled, “The Role Of Christian  Family  In A Like This,”challenged  the fathers  to work  towards  building  the  family  that they  should  be  proud  of   by  investing  more  in training  their  children to be come  responsible  in the  society ranging from their  family. 

  Also  the  Chairman, fathers  Followership  of the  Church, Mr. Author Nwaocha frowned on the  attitude  of some  fathers  who  have  form  the  habit of  beating  their  wife  and  always  curse  their  children  with  little  or no  provocation ,describing  such  attitude  as ungodly capable  of tiring  the  family  into  pieces.
