Anambra State Govt to begin on active revenue enforcement drive on April 1

In its bid to improve the financial status of the state, the Anambra State Government has announced its plans to embark on a vigorous revenue drive starting from April 1sr, 2022.

A public notice signed by the Deputy Director and Head Taxpayer Education and Enlightenment Team, Mrs. Sylvia Tochukwu-Ngige, for the Executive Chairman Mr. Richard Nwora Madiebo, called on all eligible taxpayers to visit any commercial bank closest to them to pay their taxes using their ANSSSID Numbers.

According to the announcement, the team of enforcement from AIRS will be enforcing payment of taxes and levies including Business Premises Permit, Waste Management (ASWAMA), Signage (ANSAA) and fire service compliance.

The public notice reads, “This is to inform the citizens of Anambra State that Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS) will from Friday, April 1, 2022 commence enforcement of Bill Implementation in Anambra State.

“The team of Enforcement from AIRS will be enforcing payment of taxes and levies including Business Premises Permit, Waste Management (ASWAMA), Signage (ANSAA) and fire service compliance.

“Ndi Anambra are by this announcement advised to check their ANSSID status to confirm if they have paid, otherwise, visit any Commercial Bank of their choice using their ANSSID number to pay.

“Please, do not leave the pay point until it is confirmed that your bill is directly paid into Anambra State Government account. Collect evidence of payment from the pay point.
