Anambra Police Arrest 2 Kidnappers in Amichi, Recovers Car, Corpse

Policemen attached to Ochi divisional heaquaters in Amichi have arrested two suspects for allegedly kidnapping and killing a man  and dispossessing him of his lexus jeep.

The suspects whose names were given as Emmanuel Nwafor 23 and Chukwuebuka Obi, 21 both indigenes of Amichi town in Nnewi South LGA of Anambra state were picked up by the police on Thursday 9th July following a tip off.

It was gathered that the suspects had lured a man identified as Enoch Nwosu 45, of Enugwu Aja village, Ichi to a compound in Ihe village, Amichi where they extorted a huge sum of money from him and murdered him in the process before dumping his lifeless body in a forest in Amichi.

The victim was said to have left his home since Saturday 4th July in his Lexus 330 Jeep with Reg No.ZBL 38RL.

Police detectives visited the scene of the crime on Monday, 6th July where the body was recovered and deposited at the mortuary after it was certified dead by a medical doctor.

The fleeing suspects were consequently arrested after failed attempts to sale the stollen car in Asana. The deceased’s Lexus Jeep and other valuables were also recovered from them.

On Friday, 10th July 2020, two other suspects were arrested by the Police operatives attached to the Divison for interrogation. The police has also gone on manhunt to track down all the fleeing accomplices.

Policies sources who prefer anonymity disclosed that the tragedy is that of a homosexual love affair gone sour. The deceased was alleged to be in a love relationship with the suspects before things fell apart among them.

In the meantime, all the suspects have been transferred to SARS department at Ichi for further investigations.
