PRESS RELEASE BY THE STATE WOMAN LEADER ANAMBRA STATE PDP, CHIEF HON. MRS CALISTA NKIRU ADIMACHUKWU

The problem in Anambra State PDP was caused by Ndubuisi Nwobu in the sense that the Anambra State PDP Exco is supposed to be impartial. But the case was different with Ndubuisi Nwobu when he conspired with his cohorts to hand over the party structure to a Governorship aspirant from Anambra Central, when it was clear that it was the turn of the South to produce a candidate.

Myself and two other EXCO members explained to Ndubuisi Nwobu to give all the aspirant a level playing ground but rather than doing that, he went ahead to conspire and stage manage my suspension from the party with illegally constituted Nnewi North PDP EXCO when he knew very well that there was no Congress at Nnewi North and as such , Nnewi North does not have any Executive nor have any legally constituted Caretaker committee.

We have a valid and subsisting order of court of competent jurisdiction which was duly served to Ndubuisi Nwobu, that ordered parties to maintain status quo antebellum pending the hearing and determination of the substantive pending Motion on Notice, yet he went ahead to publish in the Punch Newspaper and Vanguard Newspaper of June 26, 2020, that I and two other EXCO members were sacked from our elected positions, and this is tantamount to contempt of court. This forms the basis for us being here today being July 2nd, 2020 with the Anambra State Commissioner of Police at Awka to ensure that the authorities hold him accountable for going against court order which is capable of distabilising public peace and order.

The Police advised Ndubuisi Nwobu to obey the court order and also to sue for peace, to enable the PDP win the forth coming gubernatorial election in Anambra State.
