Anambra monarch demands end to unemployment, hunger, insecurity

His Royal Highness, Igwe Udoji Anumanu Ezeigbo V111 of Oraifite Ancient Kingdom, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra state, has demanded for immediate end to unemployment, hunger and insecurity nationwide.

Igwe Udoji made the demand at his palace while commending Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’ over his rapid infrastructural development of the state noting that the ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads in Okpoko, other parts of the state and the launch of its One Youth Two SKills initiative and employment of over 5000 teachers, 3000 health officials to boost the education and health sectors were worthy of commendation.

He however beckoned on the State government to cut down on obstacles that impede local and foreign investments in the state.

“The administration of Prof.Charles Soludo since it came on board on March 17, 2023 is working tirelessly on the mantra of building a prosperous and livable Homeland for Anambra citizens

“He has made it imperative that he was going to use Okpoko community as a model for modern city in Anambra state. The menace of touts and touting are also given a fight.In as much as I am not here today to blow the trumpet of the administration, I am of the view that if a person or a government is doing well, such should be commended.

“Amazingly the Governor has achieved all such strides under two years in office”, he stated.

The traditional ruler also commended the entire Oraifite people who have been making the community proud by their ingenuity and selfless contributions to humanity and in particular Chiefs Emeka Okwuosa and Emeka Offor who recently hosted the Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima, during a working visit where he commissioned the Electric Meter Manufacturing factory and New Ijele Igbo radio station all built in Oraifite .

Speaking on the recent collapse of security apparatus across the country, Igwe Udoji identified poverty as a major catalyst fuelling an unprecedented rise in all sort of crime and called on the Federal Government to rise up and deploy all physical and material approach to solving the issue of insecurity in the land

“It is also important to call the attention of the Federal Government to the collapse of many Industries and Companies especially in the South East. No effort will be too much to assist the Industrialists to bounce back to production and in the process offer employment to the youths ,many of who are rooming around the streets hungry for jobs,” he stated.

The monarch further appealed to the Federal, State and Local Governments, and other well meaning residents to come and invest in Oraifite and take advantage of the outstanding human resources and uncommon Hospitality of Ndi Oraifite.
