Anambra Ministry of Women Affairs Repatriates 28 Rescued Children to Ebonyi

The Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has successfully repatriated 28 children rescued from exploitation in Nnewi North Local Government Area back to Ebonyi State, following the anti-child exploitation operation conducted on 29th June 2026.

The exercise was coordinated under the directive of the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Chinyere Esther Onyekesi (Adaejiejemba), and the Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Ebonyi State, received the children on behalf of the Ebonyi State Government, confirming a successful inter-state handover.

Mrs. Onyekesi expressed satisfaction with the smooth collaboration between both states and thanked the Anambra State Government for the provision of buses that facilitated the safe transportation of the children, made available through the Office of the Secretary to the State Government. She reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to pursuing all forms of child exploitation with firmness, ensuring that rescued victims are returned to safety and reunited with their families through the appropriate channels.
