Anambra Guber: Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Wing Asks INEC To Ensure Free, Fair Exercise
The Secretary-General, Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Wing Worldwide, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalezeukwu has petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to ensure that the forthcoming Anambra governorship election is free, fair and credible.
Mazi Okpalezeukwu, who made this appeal while speaking to the newsmen in Awka, urged the Nigeria’s electoral umpire to do everything within its reach to make the Anambra election a successful one that would be acceptable to the vast majority of Ndi Anambra.
He maintained that Igbo Youths will continue to synergize with Ohaneze Ndigbo World-wide, led by Ambassador George Obiozor as well as political leaders in Igbo nation for the continuous development of the zone.
The Secretary General called on Anambra youths to stay away from any act that could mar the election, as according to him, the Anambra election is very strategic to Ndi Igbo, due to the statue of the state in the South East Region and Nigeria in general.
He expressed confidence that Ndi Anambra will elect a credible person and advised the electorate to shun money bag politicians and vote for the candidate that will consolidate on the gains already made by previous administrations, especially the incumbent, Chief Willie Obiano.
Mazi Okpalezeukwu, who commended Anambra State Government for the ongoing palliative work on the Enugu Onitsha Express Road, especially the Amansea- Ugwuoba axis, called on the federal government to as a matter of fact, intervene on the road.
