Anambra Govt Warns Petrol Filling Stations Against Selling Above Pump Price

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Petroleum, NUPENG and Union Matters, Comrade Peter Nwosu, declares Anambra State Government will close down any petrol station that sells product above stipulated pump price in the State.

In a release made available to newsmen, Comrade Nwosu directed all petrol stations across Anambra to start selling the product at the approved pump price of one hundred and sixty-five naira per litre.

He said anything higher than the approved pump price amounts to illegality and deliberate attempt to make life difficult for Ndi Anambra, as well as heat up the polity, which should be legally treated as such.

The SSA on Petroleum and Union Matters disclosed that the suspension of strike recently embarked upon by Petroleum dealers was as a result of intervention of some relevant stakeholders, including the Anambra State Government.

He therefore urged the public to report cases of hike in fuel price anywhere in the State to the office of the SSA on Petroleum and Union Matters via the phone number: 0-8-0-6-6-3-8-2-0-0-0 for appropriate actions.
