Anambra Govt Targets Mass Youth Empowerment In Entertainment Industry

Anambra state government is planning to create more jobs, empower youths and foster capacity building through the entertainment industry.

According to the Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artwork, Culture and Tourism, Honourable Tony One-Week Muonagor who revealed this in Awka, said that creating more jobs to meaningfully engage the youths through the entertainment industry will help reduce crime in the society.

Odogwublog.com reports that Honourable Muonagor, who resumed office few days ago, has already launched Anambra Diaspora Television, an online YouTube channel, which will promote and project the image of the state to the outside world.

According to him, the platform will enable Ndi Anambra in diaspora to be well informed on the programs and developmental agenda of the present administration with the intention to bring them home for partnership.

He stated that three programs to drive the Anambra Diaspora TV, include, Anambra Today for news, Our House, a program that will entertain and as well inform the public, and Ajambene Comedy.

He revealed the plans of organizing the first Anambra Diaspora Investment Summit, where Ndi Anambra will attend from different parts of the world, which he said will improve on the already existing relationship the state has with Anambra indigenes in diaspora.

Honourable Mounagor assured of effective collaboration with Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artwork, Culture and Tourism, noting that plans are already on ground for steady Art Exhibitions in the state to promote and showcase the Anambra Indigenous artists to the world saying that it will be one week, one show in the area of art and culture.

According to him, the programs lined up for the revival of culture and tourism in the state will create jobs for the youths, foster youth empowerment and capacity building and as well generate revenue for the development of the state.

He noted that the best way to check and curb social vices among youths is to create jobs to engage them meaningfully.
