Anambra Govt Assured Ihite-Ndioji Road To Be Completed In Two Weeks

Residents of Ihite community, Orumba South Council Area were in high spirits after being assured that the Ihite- Ndioji road will be completed in two weeks time. The assurance was given when Governor Willie Obiano inspected work on the road project.

Odogwublog.com learnt that length of the road which links Anambra with Abia state is two-point-five kilometers.

On completion of the road which was awarded in February 2019, it will takes about fifteen minutes into Abia state.
Governor Obiano noted that the contractor gave him assurances that asphalt on the road will be completed in two weeks and commended them for complying to standard, noting that the road has high economic value to the agrarian community.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Works, Engineer Marcel Ifejiofor, said that all aspects of the road has been completed, except asphalting, pointing out that the Ministry has been on ground, monitoring the project, to ensure strict compliance to standard, adding that the people of the community are happy and have been cooperating with the contractor.

The site Engineer for the contracting firm, Mercy Jackson, who assured that the road will be completed before the rains set in, promised that they will deliver quality work to ensure durability.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Housing, Architect Mike Okonkwo and the member representing Orumba South at the State House of Assembly, Honourable Emma Nwafor said that the project is promise kept and thanked the Governor, while assuring that they will continue to support the present administration.

Chief of staff to the Governor, Mr Primus Odili also accompanied the Governor on the visit, while members of the community including the Traditional ruler of Ihite, Igwe Benson Ofu, came out to receive them.
