Orumba South now theatre of ritualists, Kidnap

LAWRENCE NWIMO reports that communities in Orumba South local government area are fast turning into something strange for the commuters particularly non indigenes.

According to him , there was apprehension in Umunze town over the sudden discovery of two lifeless bodies of young girls  near Ugbo Lomu, along the Umunze-Owerre-Ezukala road Orumba south, Anambra State.

The lifeless bodies suspected to be that of students of Federal College of Education, Technical,  Umunze were yet to be identified as at press time. Parts of the body were mutilated suggestive that they may have fallen victim of ritualists.

There was speculation however that the bodies were dumped on that track to cover up the actual scene of where the gory tale took place. The two corpses were deposited at the cottage hospital mortuary, Umunze.

This is coming as a lecturer of the Federal College of Education, Umunze was abducted on the early hours of penultimate Saturday while two others sustained degrees of injury from stray bullets.

The victim of the kidnap, Mrs Okwuchi Njoku, Head of Agric and Home Economic department of FCE(T) Umunze, was abducted at the Nkwo round about as she was alighting from her blue Camry to buy items from the market.

‘’She was driving ahead of the kidnappers before they opened fire and started shooting sporadically prompting the traders and passers-by to scamper for safety and in the process she was kidnapped’’, a source who witnessed the scenario had said in anonymity.

” The incident happened at some minutes past 7am when I was heading to Nkwo this morning to get food items. On getting to the round about of the Nkwo market, the armed hoodlums started shooting into the air. The shootings made people including myself to run for my life. The hoodlums ordered one woman I later discovered to be our lecturer into their car and sped off”.
