Anambra Government Flags Off Distribution Of Statutory Records To Basic School Across State
Anambra State government has flaged off distribution of free administrative statutory records to all primary and junior secondary schools across the state.
The distribution and flag off ceremony organised by the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, took place at the ASUBEB headquarters where ASUBEB Directors, Zonal Directors, Officers In Charge, Executive Secretaries among other stakeholders in Education sector were in attendance.
Presenting an address , ASUBEB Chairman, Dr Justina Anyadiegwu who listed the statutory records to include, school registers, diaries, official folders among others said that the event reflects Governor Chukwuma Soludo ‘s deliberate and thoughtful steps towards strengthening school administration and one of the practical expressions of the Governor’s free education policy.
Dr Anyadiegwu urged the teachers, administrators and stakeholders in Education sector to know that the statutory records are free of cost, and should be used in basic schools across the state , appreciating Governor Soludo for ensuring that education in Anambra is totally free, thereby giving parents freedom in terms of sending their children to school.
She said that the records would be put in use together with the digital method which they have been taught, noting that they will fully migrate to digital record keeping by next academic session.
In a goodwill message, the Executive Secretary Post Primary School Service Commission, Dr Bernadine Anago, charged the Head teachers, teachers and stakeholders to put the records to use and not as decoration because there will be time to time monitoring of schools to ensure that they are used adequately.
The event featured symbolic distribution of the statutory records to the education stakeholders.
