The immediate past members of both Red and Green Chambers of the National Assembly, NASS, representing Anambra North Senatorial District and Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Senator Stella Oduah and Chukwuma Onyema, respectively, have been blamed for the poor State of the roads in Ogbaru constituency.

The blame was made Sunday, when all roads led to Odo Rubber Community Association of Social Interest, residence of former gubernatorial candidate of National Conscience Party of Nigeria, NCPN, comrade Peter Okala, as his wife, lady Uchenna Okala, celebrated her golden age birthday in grand style.

Guests who passed through Atani/Odekpe/Ogwuikpere road, the only road that leads to Atani, headquarters of Ogbaru Local Government, to join the celebrant in marking her golden age, lamented coming to the function sequel to the poor State of the road and its adjourning streets

Pleading to the guests for forgiveness, the couple expressed optimism that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, would in no distance time come to their rescue adding that security and road construction/rehabilitation are among his priority areas.

“It is unfortunate that a Senator and House of Representatives members representing Onitsha North zone and Ogbaru Federal constituency passed through this road to their different communities when they were in the National Assembly and in Government for 12 years and eight years respectively, without fixing the road.

Okala commended the guests who tried to be part of the celebration, adding that the poor State of the road forced most of those who wanted to be present to abandon the idea of taking risk

He described his wife as a virtuous woman, a mother to all who most women emulated because of her humility and love for others, especially the womenfolk adding that God has blessed her and the entire family with fruits of the womb and other necessities of life.

Speaking, the chairman of the Anambra State Drivers’ Welfare Association, Chief Adindu Opala, disclosed that he could not come with his vehicle to the function because of the poor State of the roads

“I am here because it is necessary that I must be here because the celebrant is wife to our grand patron. The road is so bad that I have to pick tricycle on charter basis to this place.

“I pray that the celebrant, lady Uchenna, will continue to see more years and even celebrate her centenary age with everybody here. She is a virtuous woman that should be emulated,” he stated.

Also speaking, the chairman of the area, Chief Fredrick Muogozie, decribed the poor State of the road as unfortunate pointing out that residents of the area have continued to live in such ugly situation for over 12 years when they have their representatives in the National Assembly.

“We have two National Lawmakers, Senator Stella Odua and Hon. Chukwuma Onyeso, who passed through this Atani/Odekpe/Ogwuikoere road without working on it until they were sacked.

“We plead to Governor Soludo to come to our rescue because the rainy season is here and the flood is around the corner. We also plead to the new Federal lawmakers to help us, Hon. Afam Ogene who is in the FederL House of Representatives and Senator Tony Nwoye, please help us,” he pleased.

To the birthday celebrant, Lady Okala he said, “keep it up, you are a mother indeed. A virtuous woman and your husband has made us to be important in this community,” he hinted.

Also, a grand patron of the community, Chief Donatus Okorie, urged women not to be deceived by earthly wealth but rather try to ensure that their husbands did not spend more than their income.

” That makes a good wife, don’t envy those who are better than you and in the process put your husband in trouble that may lead to family crisis. Lady Uchenna Okala, needs to be emulated, she is a mother to all,” he stated.

Others who spoke included, Chiefs Cosmas Oseme, Hon. Nzeobi and loveth Obinwa, who prayed God to keep the celebrant for them up to her centenary celebration and above.
