Anambra Election: 74 PDP, APC Members Decamp to APGA In Ogbaru LGA

The All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA campaign in Ogbaru LGA recorded huge success as 74 Party members from People’s Democratic party (PDP) and All Progressive Congress (APC) defected to APGA Party.

Receiving the Decampees, the State Governor His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano lauded the group for their initiatives in joining new Party, describing APGA as a winning team and assured them that they would be treated as a full fledged APGA members.

He  also assured the decamped political group that henceforth they would be enjoying all the rights and privileges due for all  APGA faithfuls, even as he instructed the Ogbaru Local government Council Chairman, Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu to give them APGA regalia.

Gov. Obiano equally poured accolades on the Ogbaru Local Government council Chairman, Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu for his brilliant coordination and efforts to consolidate APGA in his council area. The Governor noted that Hon. Awogu is a real goal getter who never give up in living to his responsibilities.

He highly eulogized the council Chairman for the Mammoth gathering of  APGA members and assured him that he has written his name with golden pen as far as APGA is concerned and he would reciprocate by making sure that some uncompleted projects in Ogbaru LGA  would be completed by his successor if APGA emerges victory in November 6 election.

In his appreciation remarks, the Ogbaru LGA transition Chairman, Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu described Governor Obiano as a working Governor, best security Governor and alert Governor.

 He expressed his delights and zeal for APGA Party, stating that APGA is for Ogbaru LGA and Ogbaru LGA is for APGA Party. He commended Governor Obiano for his monumental achievements in the Anambra State and his recent completed Passengers and Cargos Airport in the State also  his enormous projects in the Ogbaru council area  as well as appointments to some Ogbaru LGA indigines.

He recalled that Ogbaru LGA never lagged behind in supporting APGA since its inception in Anambra State, positing that during the recent primary election in the party, Ogbaru LGA delivered 100%, even as he assured the Governor that Ogbaru LGA is also ready to deliver the same 100% votes to APGA in the November 6 poll.

Similarly, the indigine of Ogbaru LGA and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano in Farm Implementation, Sir Paul Nwosu disclosed that Governor Obiano used his influence to initiate Ogbaru LGA as the Oil producing Local Government and also initiated accelerated Agricultural Developmental  Scheme (AADS) which according to him Ogbaru LGA benefited immensely.

 The leader of  All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA in the Ogbaru Local government Council, Hon. Nnamdi Ifejika while commending Governor Obiano’s love for Ogbaru LGA, he revealed that Ogbaru LGA has 16 active wards and they are all working for APGA Party.

He, however, assured the Governor that Ogbaru LGA can never forget him for the love he has for them and pleaded with him to remember that some awarded roads in Ogbaru LGA are not completed so that his successor would complete it for them, regretting that the major challenges of Ogbaru LGA is access roads.

In his comments, the APGA Governorship candidate, Professor Charles Soludo hinted he was overwhelmed to witness large crowd of people in the area.

” I am delighted to be here today. Ogbaru people has actually demonstrated their love for Gov. Obiano and APGA Party. Thank you Hon. Awogu, you are indeed wonderful”

He promised if he elected as the Governor, he would create 30,000 jobs every year for the youths, commence his first projects at Okpoko, empower women and traders in the state.
