Anambra ACSPN elects Dr Gideon Nwafor as New Chairman

Dr Gideon Nwafor of the Mass Communication Department, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam has been elected as the State Chairman of Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN), Anambra State Chapter.
Other members of the new executive are Dr. Adaobi Okeke (UNIZIK), Vice Chairman; Dr. Gloria Ebele Nwodu (COOU), Secretary; Mrs Chika Nnabuife (UNIZIK), Asst Secretary; Dr. Njide Ezeonyejiaku (UNIZIK), Treasurer; Chinyere Okoye (NTA), Auditor; Ugochukwu Onuigbo (OkoPoly), Mobilization Officer; Ogemdi Ozoemenam (Odenigbo FM Obosi), Publicity Secretary and Dr. Nneka Ono (UNIZIK), Welfare Officer.
The online election was conducted by the chairman Credential Committee, Mrs Oge Okoli under the watchful eyes of the outgoing chairman and National Welfare / Logistics Officer ACSPN, Mrs Ify Obi and the Matriarch of ACSPN, Prof Chinyere Stella Okunna (first female Professor of Mass Communication in sub-Saharan Africa and current, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Paul University Awka).
Thirty three members of the association participated in the election.
In his acceptance speech, the new State Chairman of ACSPN, Dr Gideon Nwafor urged members to give their unalloyed support to the Executive to deliver on their mandate of taking the association to greater heights.
“I accept this position with every sense of responsibility knowing fully well that we will receive the unalloyed support of all the members of our Association. It is a win for all of us.”
