Anambra @ 30: Speaker Assures Of Laws, Resolutions To Accelerate Development
As Anambra State clocks thirty years of invention today, the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor asserts the state legislature will go on to enact laws and resolutions intended for the total advancement of the state as well as the improvement of the living standard of the citizenry.
In his goodwill message to Governor Willie Obiano and Ndi Anambra on behalf of the state legislature, Right Honourable Okafor noted that though the state had recorded successes at different times in the past, the Obiano administration has been able to stamp sustainable development in all sectors of the state economy especially by building the unprecedented International Cargo/Passenger Airport in the state.
The speaker, who extolled the efforts of the founding fathers of the state towards the creation of the state, enjoined politicians to see the peace and progress of the state as a collective responsibility.
He expressed satisfaction with the cordial relationship existing among the three arms of the government in the state and commended Governor Obiano for moving the state to enviable heights through good governance.
Right Honourable Okafor called on affluent citizens to key into Governor Obiano’s Community Choose Your Project Initiative by committing part of their wealth to the development of their various communities.
While praying God to continue to strengthen Governor Obiano in his development efforts in the state, the Speaker enjoined Ndi Anambra to uphold those virtues that would enable the state to grow from strength to strength.
