Anambra 2025: Onitsha South ASATU Youth Mayor Hosts Youths On Sports Activities …..Enjoined Them To Re-Elect Soludo Come Nov.8

In his bid to promote unity and cordial relationship among youths in Fegge Community, the Mayor of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Onitsha South Local Government Area, Comrade Dunu Chiadikobi, (C.Prof) is hosting the youths in the area on sports activities.

The sports activities which started on 13th of Oct, brought all the youths in the Fegge Community together at Godwin Achebe Stadium Fegge Onitsha.

According to Dunu,” For the first time, the four communities that made up Onitsha South, Fegge, Woliwo, Housing and Odoakpu are uniting and playing football and other games together, they play draft, table tennis, among others. It is during my tenure that ASATU as a body was recognized in Onitsha South Local Government Area.

“They now come together and have meetings, so my aim is to bring youths together so that they can speak with one voice, and I will ensure that the batting which was handed over to me will continue to wax stronger till my tenure elapses, and I will hands over to a capable that will continue from where i stopped”.Dunu posited.

He further reminded the youths on the one youth 2 skills initiative by governor Soludo, adding that youths in the state are mostly the beneficiaries in Soludo’s administration more than their counterparts in other states.

He mentioned Governor Soludo’s achievements which includes youths empowerment, employment of 8115 teachers, road infrastructures and other numerous achievements and reminded the youths on the importance of re-electing the governor for more human capital and infrastructural development in the state.

Earlier in his speech, the Mayor of the area, Hon.Chief Emeka Orji, after kicking off the football tournament with the Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon Mrs Beverly Nkemdiche Ikpeazu stated that he appreciated the aim of the leader of ASATU on organizing such event, adding that he is strongly behind the youths. He pointed out that they should not hesitate to consult him whenever he was needed as he is now the father of the ASATU in the area.

Orji pledged to be of help when consulted reiterating the achievements of Governor which includes the empowerment of youths through one youth, two skills and Advised the youths to come out on Nov 8 gubernatorial election to re-elect Governor Charles Soludo.

Contributing, Hon.Mrs Nkemdiche expressed her joy and lauded the ASATU leader for organizing the event, She advised the youths to ensure they participate in the coming gubernatorial election by voting for the governor

The football match which was played on the first day day of flag off between Fegge and Odoakpu ended with 2-2, while Housing estate won Woliwo with 2-0.

On the table tennis, Odoakpu community won while the ludo game was won by housing estate community, they are now waiting for the final winner on football which will take place on Nov.3rd being the final day of the event.
