Anambra 2021: Soludo’s Governorship Ambition And His ‘Romance’ With Obiano

Professor Charles Soludo remains till this day one of Nigeria’s best and brightest brain. History has it that he was the youngest Nigerian Professor of all time and amongst the finest in Economics. A sane, sound, seasoned, fine and refined gentleman.

When one recalls that honestly, God did richly bless Nigeria with huge human and natural resources and particularly at this moment in our nation’s history when our economy has nearly collapsed and our naira a huge joke in world financial affairs, the magic ward inherent in the many likes of Soludo comes to mind.

As the Anambra gubernatorial election draws closer, Ndi Anambra must support capable hands that will be able to pilot the affairs of the state. Soludo having declared his intention to Govern the state as early as late last year is duly prepared to slug it out with other worthy candidates.

If you recall correctly, The promising Professor Soludo in 2017 campaigned assiduously for Governor Willie Obiano during his second term election campaigns. He held that Willie is a peak performer and went as far as stating as his lead quote on describing his administration, “if it’s not broken, why mend it?”. He broke barriers in making sure that his friend and Governor was elected.

His commitment to Willie Obiano’s 21/21 election result helped to boost the relationship between the two men. This made Governor Obiano to name him the Chairman of a think tank group saddled with the task of fashioning out a development road map for Anambra State for the next 50 years. One can equally say that these two bright brains has been thinking on how to better promote our dear state— a senario one can tag,’ a romance made for Ndi Anambra’

This latest ‘romance’ with the state Governor has made him the leading aspirant from the ruling ‘Nke a bu nke anyi’ (this is our own) Party. Since his declaration last year, The state government and it’s appointees have been systematically projecting him as the consensus candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.

Are you still asking if Soludo will fly on the promise of Continuity?

Soludo continues to draw heavily from the success stories of all APGA Governments. There is something in the APGA philosophy of governance that cannot be appreciated in isolation. Those who try to single out a particular administration for praise while condemning the other would always be lost in the Chicken and Egg argument.

APGA has had a Governor in boom and has also had one in recession. More significantly, the intricate financial management of the State in the last 7years, in spite of the odds, tells the story of a fiscally responsible leadership, a feat that was missing when one opposition party almost grinded the State to a halt at the wake of this democratic dispensation.
