Anambra 2021: Parties Urged To Field Candidates From Anambra South

As political parties in the state strategize to produce flag bearers ahead of the 2021 governorship election in Anambra State, a former Managing Director of the Transport Company of Anambra State (TRACAS) and Chairman Board of Directors Onowu uli Resources limited an Airtel Partner in Anambra State, Ogbuehi Onowu Frank Igwe (a.k.a Onowu Uli) has called on political parties to field candidates from the Anambra Senatorial zone in accordance with the gentleman’s agreement for rotational governorship in the state.

Onowu Igwe in a press statement at his Umuoma Uli residence, noted that since the agreement is not constitutional, it is imperative for the people of the Anambra South Secretorial zone to practicalize horse trading techniques to convince its Anambra Central and Anambra North counterparts to support their governorship aspiration.

He noted that equity demands that the people of the Anambra South extraction be given an opportunity given the fact that the Anambra Central zone has produced ex-governors – Dr. Chris Ngige and Chief Peter Obi who were in office for about eleven years, and the Anambra North Zone which is completing its 8 years of rule.

According to Onowu Igwe, the Southern zone has produced ex-governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju who ruled for four years and ex-governor Chukwuemeka Ezeife who was in office for some months.

The performance of governor Willie Obiano in Office, Onowu Igwe rated his service delivery as high with a particular reference to the development of the Anambra North Secretarial zone which justifies the maxim that charity begins at home.

In his calculation, every elected governor should strive to develop his zone while in office to ensure overall developments in all the three senatorial zones in the state.

Onowu Igwe used the forum to urge governor Obiano to address the challenges facing the Ihiala Local governmental area and the Uli Community with reference to enhancing democracy dividends in the area.
