Anambra 2021: AAC candidate supporters stranded in Awka after rally

Hundreds of supporters of the candidate of African Action Congress AAC, Dr. Dozie Nwankwo, Whichtech Boss were allegedly stranded in Awka Anambra state capital after a rally, www.odogwublog.com gathered.

The supporters who came for the rally of the governorship candidate in the November 6 poll,were disappointed after they could not get the stipend promised them by the organiseers of the rally .

Our reporter gathered that five persons were drawn from each of the 326 wards in the state and 10 persons from over 200 supporters groups that graced the occasion across the 21 local government areas of the state.

One of the stranded persons who didn’t wanted his name on print from Dunukofia local government area told our reporter that he cannot go home without collecting transport money.
He said that , he did not have money to transport himself home and if they failed to give him money , he might not likely go home .

“How do they expect me to go home without collecting transport money. Do they think I will trek home to my area with leg.
They came to us and told us that we would be given some money and we followed them only for them to say , we will be given money later, then how do we go home ” he asked.

The trouble started when Nwankwo had addressed them and left the venue of the campaign, leaving everything to the organisers .

Speaking at the rally, Nwankwo made known his manifesto and urged the supporters to work hard for the victory of the party in the forthcoming governorship election.

After the candidate had left, the Director- General of Dr. Dozie Nwankwo campaignn council , Prophet Ejike Nwachukwu told them that they should go home while their representatives will reach out to them for their money .
According to him, the money made available to them would be given to them through their representatives during a meeting.


Another supporter Mrs Ngozi Okeke said that she was disappointed that they could bring them out only to trick them that they will be given money later.
“I don’t know how they could treat them so badly in this outing?” she said
