Amazing Sisters Nkwa For Jesus Debuts in Style at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, Obunagu

AWKA, NOVEMBER 2, 2025 — The atmosphere at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, Obunagu was electrifying on Sunday as a vibrant new gospel band, Amazing Sisters Nkwa For Jesus, was officially inaugurated. The group, an initiative of the church’s women fellowship known as Amazing Sisters, made its debut with a powerful blend of music, culture, and spiritual celebration.

The event, which drew a crowd of family, friends, and well-wishers, featured the unveiling and launching of the group’s official banner, as well as the honouring of distinguished individuals who were named patrons and matron of the group. Among those recognized were:

  • Ozo Barr. Chekwube Osonwa– Patron
  • Engr. Sir Humphrey Nsofor, FNSE, FNICE – Patron, Chairman of the Ikukuoma Campaign Council, and General Chairman of the Province of the Niger Political Committee
  • Mrs. Uche Orakwute – Matron

In his address, Ozo Barr. Chekwube Osonwa expressed deep satisfaction that the group’s music is rendered in the Igbo language. He described it as a vital step toward preserving and promoting Igbo heritage through worship. “These songs, sung by our people in our language, are not just melodies—they are cultural preservation in motion,” he said.

He encouraged the group to remain committed to their divine calling, using their voices to glorify God and reflect His majesty through every note and lyric.
