Amanuke traditional ruler, Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo receives NUJ Outstanding Community/Humanitarian service award

The Traditional ruler Elect of Amanuke Eri Kingdom, in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra state, Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo has been bestowed with the prestigious OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY/HUMANITARIAN SERVICE AWARD by the Nigerian Union of Journalists, South East, zone C.

This award according to NUJ is in recognition of Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo’s numerous contributions towards community-based charity and humanitarian services in the nation at large and Anambra state in particular.

Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo with the philosophy of selfless giving, belief’s that selfless giving unto others represents one’s true wealth.

He doesn’t just think of helping, he does help and starts doing that without knowing what he was doing for over 22 years, only with the mind set of attempting to cure evils at their source, which is at the community level.

This must have informed his vision of establishing a Non profit International NGO , Beyond Community Care Foundation BECCAF, which has given hope to over 500 Almajiries, 200 pupils of Kwamba primary school and Kpaha primary school all in Niger state.

His foundation is currently paying school fees to over 600 pupils and 200 students in various communities in Anambra state unannounced.

The 7 children of one Mr Isah from Zamfara state that were affected by the insurgency in the area are living testimony of the big heart of Igwe Ezebuilo, so also is Miss Chidera, presently enjoying the benevolence nature of Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo through health care and scholarship program.

Igwe Ogbuodudu 11 as he is fondly called said empowerment of over 10 undergraduates of Unizik Mass Communication Department are all eloquent testimonies of the man that NUJ just awarded the prestigious ‘OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY/HUMANITARIAN SERVICE AWARD’

Most IDP Camps in and around Abuja have many good things to say about Igwe Ezebuilo and his foundation and this award by NUJ and other awards by various notable organizations will go a long way to spur him to do more, although he seeks not to be praised, because he holds the philosophy that the way to create a difference in the world is to serve and many have benefited in this service by Igwe Ezebuilo unsung.

Today, Nigerian Union of Journalists, South East, zone C has identified this quiet and humble giver and developer of communities and awarded him with this well-deserved award.

According to a statement by Onuora Aninwobodo, Director Operations/ Projects ,Beyond Community Care Foundation said: ‘We in Beyond Community Care Foundation say a big thank you to Nigerian Union of Journalists, South East, zone C and a well-deserved congratulations to our founder Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo, Ogbuodudu 11 of Amanuke Eri Kingdom and the two illustrious sons of Amanuke, Barrister Jonas Okolo and Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu for representing His Royal Highness Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo at the award ceremony held in Awka, the Anambra state Capital.

Igwe Ezebuilo received the award along side Valentine Ozigbo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2021 Anambra governorship election who urged the media to play a more active role in ensuring that the right leaders are elected in Nigeria.

Ozigbo received an award of excellence from the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) South East zone at the 2021 Anambra Media Parley held at the Don Ritz Hotel, Awka.

Presenting the award to Traditional ruler elect of Amanuke, Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo and Governorship candidate of PDP, former Chief of Staff to former Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, Professor Stella Chinyere Okunna, said Igwe Ezebuilo and Ozigbo deserved the honour because of their excellent leadership qualities.

Igwe Ezebuilo represented by Bar Jonas Okolo encouraged media practitioners to maintain their constitutional mandate of conscientizing the society.

Earleir ,Ozigbo thanked the South East Chapter of the NUJ led by Emmanuel Ifesinachi, for the recognition in his brief remarks, urging them to take charge of the leadership selection process.

“There is nothing as important as closing the leadership gap in Nigeria. Most times, we lament about the problems of Nigeria, but we do not discuss the solutions. We need to change our mindset and take full responsibility,” Ozigbo, a multiple-award-winning global CEO, said.

“Let us focus on closing the leadership gap. Another election is before us, and we must ensure that we do not have another accident. I’m here to ask the media if they are ready to play their roles.

“Let us consciously orchestrate the emergence of our leaders and not always react to these issues when they happen. Let us explore what we can do to galvanise Nigerians to make the right decision,” Ozigbo added.
