Al-Makura chairs GWADECA convention,12 years after,charges kingsmen on peace.

Senator Dr Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, representing the good people of Nasarawa southern senatorial zone of Nasarawa state,has charged his kingsmen ,the Gwandara ethnic in the state to continue to leave in peace and show respect to each other.

According to him, the Gwandara people of Nasarawa state have demonstrated that they are lovers of peace,unity and above all, the only tribe that has resisted the temptations of involving in rancour .

The former Governor of Nasarawa state, made this statement on Saturday in Kwandere during the occasion of the swearing in ceremony of the first elected state chairman of GWADECA a Gwandara socio-cultural group.

According to him,” A Gwandara man is a typical Hausa man, because they took their root from Hausa tradition and culture and Hausa anticidence.

” A Hausa man is a confirmist,he is a man that is an establishment person,one that obeys authority,that is why in all Gwandara lands,it has always been peace,peace within themselves and with their neighbors.

“And I have always advised them to keep in that mantra of peace , stability and cohesion. And I believe this why they are progressing very stadily,it may not be too fast,but very stadily and there is no administration that will not patronised them ,because any administration,that will come on board ,what it wants is loyalty, commitment and respect and fortunately the Gwandara posses all of these in abundance” senator Al-Makura said.

He urged the Gwandara people to always to give full support to the incumbent administration of Engineer Abdullahi Sule,who is his successor,saying the governor can do even more than he has done for the Gwandara people.

Senator Al-Makura who promised that he will build a hospital in a community at Awe, road from Giza to a neighbouring village ,also said he will construct a motorized bore hole in Agyeragu.

On his part,the newly sworn chairman of GWADECA, Nasarawa state chapter,Dr John Mamman,thanked and paid special tribute to the first leadership of GWADECA his immediate predecessor,Alhaji Musa Dangana,said his stewardship has led to the formation of electoral committee that carried a good work that ensured equity and fairness.

Dr John Mamman who was also sworn in newly as the state caretaker chairman of the All Progressive party(APC) used the occasion of his swearing in ceremony as the GWADECA chairman ,to called on his people to step up action and delibrate policies that will further foster unity, stability and cultural values of the dialect.

He pointed out that “In this connection,we need to pursue and take a hard look at our manifesto as a team,lest we forget ,we have already defined our agenda,to include ,creating a robust sensitization, awareness and program across the strata.

” We most create and protect our opportunities for our women in the areas of skill acquisition, strenghtens GWADECA organs including local government and development areas chapters. And also lias with other cultural association to ensure unity, harmony and peaceful coexistence of our dear state”He said.

The chairman of GWADECA ,who also doubles as the caretaker chairman of the APC in Nasarawa state,thank governor Abdullahi Sule for his selfless service to humanity and the developmental stride across the state.

The event was attended by sons and daughters of Gwandara ,that included the presence of all the 14 Traditional Rulers of Gwandara ethnic in Nasarawa state.
