Akwa Ibom State has unveiled plans to construct Ibom International Hospital, a world-class, eight-storey facility aimed at boosting medical tourism.

Expected to be completed in 18 months, the hospital will feature robotic theatres, a helipad, and cutting-edge diagnostics.

Health Commissioner Dr. Ekem John said expert audits showed that fixing the existing Ibom Multi Specialty Hospital would cost more than building a new one. Both hospitals will operate side by side to enhance healthcare delivery.
