The Women Mobilisation Directorate of the 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) on Friday, 30th October 2026, held a South East Women Stakeholders Engagement and Town Hall Meeting in Enugu State.
The meeting, part of activities marking the formal flag-off of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign, was convened by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, through the Women Mobilisation Directorate.
Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu, PhD, fsi, member of the APC PCC (Women Mobilisation) and Secretary, Faith-Based Mobilisation, played a leading role in hosting the event.
She welcomed the APC National Women Leader, Hon. Dr. Mary Alile Idele; the Minister of Women Affairs, Hon. Iman Ibrahim Suleiman; Senator Abiodun Olujimi and thousands of women stakeholders drawn from Enugu, Abia, Anambra, Imo and Ebonyi States.
The wife of the Enugu State Governor, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, who served as Special Guest, led the Enugu contingent, including Hon. Ginika Tor, Hon. Oby Ajih and other women leaders.
The engagement brought together women leaders, community influencers, party stakeholders and grassroots mobilisers to deepen women participation in the political process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Participants held robust dialogue on practical strategies for expanding women’s roles in voter education, grassroots organisation and electoral mobilisation.
A major highlight was the distribution of ₦100,000 cash grants and wrappers to over 2,000 women from across the South East. Beneficiaries described the gesture as a demonstration of APC’s commitment to women empowerment.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Akobundu charged women to intensify mobilisation in their communities and take the message of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s performance to every ward and polling unit.
She stressed the need for sustained, organised and result-oriented engagement ahead of the polls.
In response, the women resolved to mobilise across their wards and polling units to ensure massive support for President Tinubu’s re-election, pledging to serve as grassroots ambassadors for the APC and the President’s second-term agenda.
The meeting reinforced the party’s determination to place women at the centre of its mobilisation strategy and underlined the growing partnership between the PCC Women Directorate and South East women leaders.
The event ended with renewed commitment and unity among South East women to play a decisive role in the 2027 elections.
