AIG Danmallam Commends Anambra Police For Standing Firm Against Vandalization

In line with the directive of the Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force, IGP Mohammed Adamu, for police to take over the public space to forestall further insurrection on Nigerians, government institutions and private enterprises by hoodlums, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone-13 of the Nigeria Police Force, Ukpo, AIG Danmallam Mohammed, has visited some police stations in Anambra State and the Anambra State Revenue House in Awka, Anambra State capital to ascertain level of damage on the facility by hoodlums.

The places the AIG visited include: Ogidi Divisional Station, Central Police Station (CPS), Awka, B. Division, Awka, Revenue House and the Anambra State Command Headquarters, Amawbia.

The AIG addressed officers on ground to be gallant in the discharge of their duties and protect their armouries at all costs. He cautioned them not to be demoralized by the turn of events recently in the country and in Anambra State, precisely.

He commended the DPOs for their firm stand against the vandalization of their stations by the marauding assailants. He charged them to be appearing in their uniforms and ensure that they’re not overpowered by the hoodlums, and ensure also that their jurisdictions were secured against any form of attack.

The AIG admonished officers to use the opportunity of the current situation in the country and give the force a new face in all ramifications. He reiterated the need to shun extortion, extrajudicial killings, corruption and unlawful detention of suspects on simple offenses as observation of these could help restore public confidence and dignity of the Nigeria Police Force.
