ADF tasks Igbo leaders/Entrepreneurs on Industrial revolution and good governance

The leadership of Alaigbo Development Foundation[ADF] has emphasized that the economic development of the South East zone and beyond depends on re inventing agricultural revolution endeared by the defunct Eastern Nigeria administration under late Michael Okpara and the  commitment of our political leaders to good governance.

ADF also reiterated it’s clarion call of ‘Akuruolo’ [An idiomatic expression of luring entrepreneurs of Igbo extraction to start investing in the zone, as strategy of developing Alagibo],stating that the Foundation is deeply canvassing  for the re discovery of the Igbo nation’s economic and political roots.

  The President of Alaigbo Development Foundation[ADF],Professor Uzodinma Nwala,gave this task in Enugu recently, at the public presentation of first edition of it’s book titled,’ The Challenge of Good Governance and Leadership in Nigeria, Eight years of Peter Obi in Anambra state.

Professor Nwala said  the agricultural revolution endeared across the defunct Eastern region led by late Michael Okpara facilitated industrial growth and development in the region,during which region was rated as one of the fasted growing economy in the world. He lamented that traces of abandoned Cashew and Palm plantations,etc,established by the late Micheal Okpara administration are lying fallow in many towns in the South East zone,with less attention from our political leaders.

He commended  the old Anambra and old Imo state  civilian administrations led by Chief Jim Nwobodo and late Sam Mbakwe to have done much in gingering industrial revolution of South East zone but poured encomiums on eight years of Mr Peter Obi  administration in Anambra state, as a good example of good governance for aspiring political leaders.

Professor Nwala stated,’ADF,as part of it’s responsibility to promote good governance and invest at home[Aku rue Ulo] in Alaigbo,decided to go into this project of examining the achievements of Mr Peter Obi’s governance of Anambra state in order to inspire our regional and state governments through setting effective agenda for development initiatives across Alaigbo’

‘We in ADF deem it fit to document such high points of Mr Peter Obi’s administration for further comparative studies that would in turn challenge our politicians and enable them to aspire to surpass whatever it is Mr Obi achieved, and at the same time avoid whatever pitfalls  his administration suffered’.

Professor Nwala disclosed that the book ‘The challenge of Good Governance and Leadership in Nigeria,Eight years of Peter Obi in Anambra state, authored by Alaigbo Development Foundation [ADF] is the first edition of it’s literary work aimed at motivating aspiring Nigerian leaders to imbibe the virtues of purposeful leadership which at the long run will translate into good governance and socio economic development of the states and the federation at large,stating that the second edition is in the making.

The book reviewer, Dr E.C.Chukwu, stressed that good governance is achievable in every contemporary society  in the midst of obstacles by every focused leader,exhibiting his wealth of experience. He disclosed that Mr Peter Obi’s experience as chairman and captain of some industries before seeking for political leadership  was the secret of the developmental;strides he enthroned in Anambra state.

Dr Chukwu recommended the book as must read for every person who want to be a good leader or a good follower.

Professor Stella Chinyere Okunna,who served in  various capacities under Mr Peter Obi
administration in Anambra state,commended the leadership of Alaigbo Development Foundation[ADF] for the initiatives meant for encouraging good governance in the country. Mr Gabriel Anajekwu,IKechukwu Asogwa and others spoke in the same direction.

lThe seven chapter book featured articles on the developmental strides and strategies were written by Comrade Abia

, a journalist cum political  analyst, who was a former commissioner for information in Ebonyi state, and presently acting secretary of the foundation,Mr Ihenwoke Nwandu,,Mr Emeka Mba,Dr  Chidozie Chukwuokolo ,Chidinma Udegbuanm and edited by Professor Uzodinma Nwla,ADF President.
