Adegoke: Adedoyin sentenced to death by hanging

Osun State Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Ojo has sentenced the owner of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Dr Rahman Adedoyin, to death by hanging.

Earlier, Justice Ojo declared that Adedoyin, owner of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, where Timothy Adegoke, an OAU postgraduate student was allegedly murdered was culpable of murder.

Justice Ojo in her ongoing judgement said the owner of the hotel and two of his workers, based on the circumstances of the case established by the prosecuting counsel, Femi Falana, SAN, are found culpable of conspiracy to commit murder, and unlawful killing of the deceased.

Odogwublog.com recalled that Timothy Adegoke was a postgraduate student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, who was murdered in November 2021 at Hilton Hotels, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Three staff of Hilton Hotels, Ile-Ife, Magdalene Chiefuna, Lawrence Oluwole and Adedeji Adesola were discharged and acquitted by the court while the sentencing for the seventh defendant is to be passed on Wednesday.

Adedoyin, who is the Chairman of Hilton Hotels, Ile-Ife, was charged along with staff of the hotel Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwole Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem Adebayo Kunle and Adedeji Adesola.

The defendants were charged on an 18-count charge of murder, conspiracy, oath of secrecy among others.
