ADDRESS OF THE ANAMBRA YOUTH VOLUNTEERS PRESENTED BY MAZI CHUKWUMA OKPALAEZEUKWU ON THE OCCASION OF THE PEACE AND SECURITY DIALOGUE/CONFERENCE
IT WAS ORGANIZED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF ANAMBRA STATE ON SATURDAY, 2ND APRIL 2022

With immense Gratitude to Almighty God, We commend the purpose driven Leadership of the Anambra State Government led by His Excellency, Prof. CC Soludo and His Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, not for inviting all Paramount Youth Organizations to this all Important Conference on Peace and Security; but for giving the “YOUTHS” opportunity to make contributions.
This is the first of this Kind, and We are Grateful.
Peace and Security are necessary tools for Nation Building; and Youths are also indispensable factors for lasting Peace and sustainable development.
We cannot divorce Injustice, Unemployment, Hunger and Idleness as major factors that promote Instability and Insecurity.
We therefore recommend Justice for all Political Prisoners, promotion of cottage industries and other viable facilities that can engage the average Igbo Youth for Rehabilitation, Rebranding and Reintegration for a better Society.
In appreciation to the current Security Challenges in South East; We, the Youth Volunteers, are determined to assisting the Government in curbing YOUTH prone excesses, capable of bleaching peace and Security, through a “Youth to Youth” Approach.
This experience has made us to know what is achievable by Youths engaging their fellow Youths.
There are Posisibilites of Engagement, and we are always available to assist as Volunteers.
We hereby use this medium to urge all Igbo Youths both the Good, the Bad and the Ugly to give Peace a Chance and desist from any act capable of causing destructions and Insecurity in any part of Igbo Land.
We cease this opportunity to Encourage the State Government to continue on this trajectory of accommodation and a sense of belonging, especially for appointing a Youth Leader to lead the Youth Ministry.
By this the purpose of this Peace and Security Dialogue, as it concerns the Youth, is already achieved by 50%.
