The President of Youth Advocates For Peace Justice And Empowerment Network and a 3rd year Law Student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Amb. Timothy C. Nwachukwu earlier today extolled the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Prof. Joseph Eberendu Ahaneku (Fas) for the transformation of the Multiple Purpose Hall ( MPH)
The Peoples Advocate while answering questions from Zikites who paid him a courtesy call poured encomiums on the Vice Chancellor for giving the Multiple purpose hall facelift.
The Students however expressed deep concern over the non issuance of their University Identity cards years after making payment for it. It’s noteworthy that Zikites are made to pay for Students Identity cards in their first year but many have bemoaned the inability of the relevant authority to release the Identity cards to them as only Department and Faculty identity cards is within their reach
Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu stressed the importance of the school identity card, he narrated to the students how he secured the released of 11 Zikites who were arrested and at miracle junction Ifite and locked up in the cell by the men of the Nigerian Police Force B division under the guise of rounding up Cultists.
De Peoples Advocate stated that the students who were unable to produce their School identity card had to spend their night at the police station until he was informed of the students predicament which he stepped in alongside other persons and secured their release without paying a dime. He stated that if the students had their Identity cards, that the arrest would have been avoided.
The Human Right Activitist further appealed to the Primus Interpares Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University to investigate into the allegations that years after payment for the University Identity cards that Students are yet to lay hands on it.
Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu assured the students that the Vice Chancellor whose fatherly love is undaunted will leave no stone unturned in a bid to ensure that Zikites gets whatever that is equitable to them, including making the University Identity cards available to the students.
