The absence of a witness in a Federal High Court in Ibadan, on Thursday, stalled hearing in alleged copyright infringements filed by Nollywood Star, Femi Adebayo.

Adebayo instituted a legal action against Murfy Ben International Limited, a YouTube channel, over the alleged copyright of his two movies.

He alleged that the online TV unlawfully transmitted his two films; “Kodiologbo-aye” and “Survival of Jelili” without authorisation.

Justice Uche Agomoh adjourned the suit until July 5, after the defence counsel, C.C. Ezeano told the court that his client who was supposed to testify in the matter was absent because of flight cancellation from Kaduna airport.

Counsel to the plaintiff, Mr Oluwaseun Awotunde, confirmed what counsel to the respondent said.

NAN reports that Adebayo had testified that “Kodiologbo-aye” was a film he produced in 2015.

He alleged that “Survival of Jelili” is still being shown at the cinema till date.

However, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Murfy Ben International limited, Mrs Igilia Ode, denied any wrong doing. (NAN)
