The most famous slogan used by both the students and lecturers of Nnamdi Azikiwe University is titled: ‘Project 200.’ The said slogan went viral during the new students’ orientation and matriculation ceremonies. The popularity of this project usually pushes one into making researches in order to come up with the true meaning.

Project 200 according to the school authorities is a dream, walking towards reality of making the school rise to the position of being rated amongst the first 200 universities in the world. The school authorities are working tirelessly towards the actualization of this dream which will cover both the academic, social, religious and infrastructural aspects of the school come 2025.

Now, following the recent happenings in the school, it seems like the school authorities have hidden agenda which tallies with the said project. It may interest to know that, as of recent, the students of the university staged a peaceful protest after a sudden hike in their school fees. Notwithstanding, a reliable source has it that the school management has sorted out the issue with her students, without much change in the new amount to be paid by the students.

Matching this up with the popular project 200, it seems that the school management are trying to gradually hike the school fees to the sum of 200 thousand naira (beginning with the freshers) come 2025. Evaluating the gap between 2021 and 2025 the accomplishment of the hidden agenda seems not to be a hard one.
