Ugobelenobi Aguata Hails Soludo’s Renewed Commitment to Anambra’s HIV Response
A respected stakeholder and legal practitioner, Hon. Barr. Iyke Ezeibenne, Ugobelenobi Aguata, has commended Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, for his administration’s renewed commitment to strengthening the HIV response and expanding prevention, testing and awareness interventions across the state.
Ezeibenne gave the commendation while hosting the Executive Director/Project Manager of the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA), Dr. Nkem Okeke, and members of his team at his residence in Ngozika Estate, Awka.
He expressed satisfaction with the renewed activities of ANSACA, particularly its efforts to take HIV awareness, testing and other preventive services closer to communities and vulnerable populations across the state.
During the interaction, Dr. Okeke briefed the host on the Agency’s State Strategic Transformation and Sustainability Plan (SSTSP 2026–2028) and ongoing interventions aimed at advancing Governor Soludo’s vision of reducing new HIV infections and ultimately achieving an HIV-free Anambra.
Ezeibenne praised Governor Soludo for giving young professionals the opportunity to serve and contribute meaningfully to the development of the state, noting that the progress being recorded at ANSACA demonstrates the importance of entrusting responsibilities to capable young people.
He pledged his continued support for the Agency and expressed readiness to collaborate with ANSACA to extend HIV awareness and testing interventions to his community, Amesi in Aguata Local Government Area, with particular attention to young people, women, schools, markets, motor parks and other grassroots populations.
Responding, Dr. Okeke thanked Ezeibenne for his hospitality, encouragement and commitment to supporting the state’s HIV response, stressing that sustained partnerships with communities, individuals and other stakeholders remain critical to achieving the state’s HIV targets.
The visit ended with an informal interaction and dinner hosted by Ezeibenne, who personally received and entertained the ANSACA team.
Dr. Okeke described the engagement as a demonstration of the growing stakeholder support for Governor Soludo’s vision for a healthier Anambra and called on other well-meaning Ndi Anambra to partner with ANSACA in taking HIV awareness, testing and prevention services to communities across the State.
