Dame Ezinwa Jane Onyekwelu JP @ 70:Bishop Ezeofor Asks Christians To Develop Demanding Faith

An Educationist and
music love, Dame Ezinne Jane Onyekwelu, JP clocked Seventy (70) years penultimate week.

The celebration was colourful starting from the Sunday thanksgiving service at the Church of The Holy Spirit Awka inside Paul University Awka to the reception at Senator Uche Ekwunife Event Center Awka along the Expressway on Sunday 9th August,2026.

Two bishops including the Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Chukwudi Ezeofor PhD who celebrated the Eucharist alongside the Bishop of Etche Diocese, Right Reverend Precious Nwala PhD alongside other 15 priests including Archdeacon, CHS Awka Archdeaconry, Ven.Dr. Onyeka Egwuonwu.

In his sermon, Bishop Ezeofor encouraged Christians to emulate the late mother of Dame Ezinne who refused to throw her away as an evil child when instructed to do so by her partner, but rather took the child to the altar of God in faith.

Bishop Ezeofor asked Christians to have “faith that receives”, which according to him is demanding faith, devoted faith, desperate faith and a daring faith.

He informed that if not for her late mother’s faith, Ezinne would have been dead long before her infancy, insisting that the bold faith to take her to the altar of Holy Trinity Anglican Church Igboukwu saved the baby who has now become old with grand children and great grand children.

Ezeofor likened Ma Janet Mgbafor “Double” Umeosudo later Anolue’s faith as that of Sarah who conceived at 90, three Women of Jobba , Jairus , the woman with the issue of blood.

He said if any Christian wishes anything from God, the person must develop this kind of faith that is demanding, devoted, desperate and daring, adding that asking from God needs no distractions.

Traditional Ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka, Okebo 11 , Her Excellency, Mrs. Ifeoma Ekwueme, Guests from Igboukwu, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Church of The Pentecost Awka and Church of The Holy Spirit Awka among others attended the 70th birthday thanksgiving and reception.

Dame Ezinne is the last of six children of late Pa Sydney Anakebe Anolue and late Ma Janet Mgbafor Double Umeosudo later Anolue of Umuezeokweka , Umuezemuli, Ngo, Igboukwu, Aguata council area. She was brought up in Port Harcourt and later joined teaching after schooling. She is a sports lover, music lover and lover of children.
She rose through ranks to retire as a deputy director of education in 2012 in the State Primary Education Board, SPEB, now Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB Awka.

She served the church, community and government in various capacities and had attended educational conferences across Nigeria.

She is blessed with six children including four boys and two girls….and sixteen grandchildren.

Her children are Mr Obiora Emmanuel Onyekwelu, Nze Nwachukwu Chinedu Onyekwelu, Nze Ambassador Chukwuebuka Onyekwelu Ksc, Ms Adaora Obiageli Onyekwelu, Nze Engr. Chukwuemeka Chidiebere Onyekwelu and Nrs Chioma Ezinwa Oluchukwu Eze.

Special rendition was presented by a combined choir led by Church of The Holy Spirit Awka to the celebrant.
