2027: Join NDC or Take the Blame — Galadima Sends Strong Warning to Atiku”

Atiku

A chieftain of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Buba Galadima, has urged former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar to join the party, warning that he may be held responsible if the opposition fails to unite ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Galadima made the statement during a political interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he argued that the opposition must consolidate under a single platform to stand a chance against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said major opposition figures were already aligning within the NDC framework, stressing that fragmentation would weaken their electoral prospects.
According to him, Atiku’s refusal to join the coalition could undermine efforts to present a united front, insisting that the former vice-president would “bear responsibility” if the opposition fails to achieve its objective.

Galadima also maintained that political unity, rather than individual ambition, should guide decisions at this stage of coalition-building, as discussions intensify ahead of 2027.
