LP faction targets 10M members ahead of Feb 28 convention
The Peter Obi–Alex Otti Labour Party faction has scheduled its national convention for February 28, 2026, launching a nationwide membership drive targeting 10 million Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections.
Acting Chairman Nenadi Usman said the move aims to rebuild the party after internal crises, while INEC has acknowledged the timetable. Abia Deputy Governor Ikechukwu Emetu heads the steering committee overseeing the exercise.
