The Federal Government is intensifying efforts to curb imported used vehicles and boost local auto manufacturing. NADDC Director-General Otunba Oluwemimo Osanipin said the National Auto Industry Development Policy (NAIDP) will be submitted to the National Assembly for enactment by mid-2026.

The initiative aligns with the End-of-Life Vehicle Recycling Regulation and the recently approved Nigeria Industry Policy, aiming to enhance road safety, create jobs, and strengthen Nigeria’s automotive sector.
