Anambra South By-Election: Coalition Insists on Nnewi Candidate
A coalition of political stakeholders in Anambra South has urged parties to field candidates from Nnewi in the upcoming senatorial by-election to replace the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
The Coalition of Anambra South Progressives argues that selecting a Nnewi candidate ensures fairness and continuity, as Ubah hailed from the area.
Speaking in Awka, coalition leader Obi Chukwuemeka called on INEC to fast-track the election, warning that delays could further marginalize the district.
“This is about justice, not just politics,” Chukwuemeka stated, emphasizing the need for a transparent process to restore the district’s representation in the Senate.
